Lunch & Learn
The AACH values our platform. As professionals in this field, we created our monthly Lunch and Learn series in the summer of 2024 to introduce new topics and conversations from a member of our board to other curious, evolving professionals. A new topic is presented at each meeting, occurring on the third Friday of each month. These meetings are $25 per class and last one hour, starting at noon CT. Interested? Fill out the form below with your information and payment to Lunch and Learn with us.

Beyond Insight Alone:
Hypnoanalytic Approaches for Neurodivergent Clients
Presented by Roberta “Robin” Berkley, LPC
$25.00
What you’ll learn:
Why many neurodivergent clients remain “stuck” despite strong insight and self-awareness
How masking, hypervigilance, and over-analysis can interfere with therapy, and how age regression may provide additional pathways toward resolution
Ways hypnoanalytic approaches can work beyond conscious insight alone
Clinical adaptations for working with neurodivergent clients
The role of symbolic, guided imagery-based and experimental processes in hypnoanalysis
How experimental modalities at the unconscious level of processing may increase therapeutic accessibility for some neurodivergent clients
About the presenter
Robin is a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor with ten years of experience working with neurodivergent clients. Her background includes work for the local Mental Health Authority, a behavioral health hospital, a children’s respite program, and submitting psychosocial assessments to the district court in adoption-related cases involving neurodivergent children. Robin is particularly interested in how neurodivergent individuals are motivated and interact with family, workplace, and social systems, and how hypnoanalysis can help resolve longstanding patterns differently than traditional, emotionally-focused approaches often assume.
